Reviews
Tried Professor pizza a couple of years ago when they were serving out of a kitchen but never left a review. From what I vividly recall we loved the pizza and tried more than one kind. The service was out of this world and they made our experience memorable. So much so it became my favorite muse. Happy to see the growth!

The weather was cold, the air was crisp, and our stomachs were ravenous after my family's first annual holiday pickleball tournament. We needed a couple of cold brews and a few good pies to celebrate the rest of the night. Not only did Professor Pizza leave us impressed, but this establishment might have became my new spot for pizza. While the food was amazing, we were also beyond impressed with our waitress who greeted us with a smile and made our night seamless and enjoyable. As an Eastern European food connoisseur new to the Chicago area, I have carefully constructed a rating system that reflects my personal thoughts, feelings, and experience. Food 10/10 *QUICK SIDE NOTE WHILE ORDERING PIZZA* the cracker crust is amazing, the quickest made, and my top choice. The cracker style is cut into thin squares, like tavern style pizza. The cracker crust has a corn meal covered undercarriage (I think) which was delightful. The cornmeal undercarriage stimulates the tongue as if you swallowed sandpaper on accident, but in the best way possible. Trust me here.... The Grandma Crust is rich and decadent. While it was great, it's important to note that you can probably only eat one slice of this pizza before feeling full. Vodka Pizza with Sausage (Cracker Crust) - A very elaborate vodka sauce that explored the depths of creaminess while offering a tanginess that made you wanna snap your fingers. We added sausage to the pie to add some protein. I feel like the sausage was a well needed addition to the thinner pizza, and I would highly recommend it. This was the table favorite. Mushroom Leek (Cracker Crust) - this was the most unique pizza we ordered and probably my favorite. Concerningly, I think I would eat unlimited slices of this pie if allowed. It has a very rich and creamy mushroom taste but was light and delicate. It has been over a week since I've had this pie and I'm still smiling just thinking about it. Deluxe Pepperoni (Grandma Crust) - This was well done with a perfect flavor profile. The Grandma crust only allowed me to try a little bit of the pie, but what I had was pure gluttony. The cupped pepperoni was plentiful and the whipped ricotta offered complimentary creaminess with whispers of sweet "hellos" I would love to try this on the cracker crust next, so I could eat more of it. This easily could've been my favorite. Drinks 6.8/10 As a beer snob, I would say that the selection of beer was good but not great. Beer is the perfect drink to have with pizza, and I think their selection should be more widespread and diverse. Put more unique lagers and craft IPAs on the menu and the score would be higher. They carry pepsi products over coke products which is a major point on controversy for many people, but I won't go down that path in this review. Atmosphere 9.3/10 It was a great, casual atmosphere that would be perfect for an intimate dinner or a casual hangout spot. I don't watch much football these days, but it seemed to be a spot that people were coming to watch the Bears. Obviously, the bar scene would be better with a more diverse selection of beers. Regardless, it seemed like the perfect place to watch a game and have a few too many slices of pizza. Our waitress is what made the atmosphere the go from a 7 to a 9.3. She was kind and very sweet. She explained the menu to us and was patient with us. Everything came out perfectly and she seemed very happy to have us and be there. Everyone in the family made comments about how great she was. Whoever served my family in far back left booth on Saturday, 12/20/25 deserves some recognition. Likelihood of Return 9.5/10 This is where I will be coming for pizza from now on. Maybe it will just be takeout because the beer selection could be improved, but the dine in experience was phenomenal. The establishment has a great vibe to it and our waitress went above and beyond,

After some less than stellar volleyball performances, my friends and I were pretty hungry. Professor Pizza absolutely hit the spot. They have several celiac-safe gluten free options that are absolutely delicious. The ordering is completely online and you can easily mark that you have a gluten allergy. I wish I lived closer to the Professor because it’s such a convenient and tasty option.

Amazing pizza with a perfect crispy crust-- possibly my favorite pizza in Chicago! Reminds me of NY pizza like Johns on Bleeker St. We walked right in on a Friday night around 7pm and got a cozy booth. We got lost in the shuffle waiting for service, but once assigned the wait staff was friendly and fast. Cool vibe, and the pizza was good cold the next day!

Oooh man...the Deluxe Pep on that focaccia is the best deep dish type of pie I've ever had. Not a fan of pep but their pep cups are freaking delicious! That pie was just so well balanced. The focaccia dough airy, crispy and crunchy, perfect amount of delicious sauce, the dollaps of ricotta was such a treat and the delicate drizzles of hot honey was just perfect. Love love love!

Fantastic pizza! Exactly what we wanted. Surpassed our expectations. Beautiful toppings ans perfectly crisp crust (we got a Supreme pizza on Grandma's crust.) Waitress was polite and helpful in explaining the different types of crusts. Manager greeted us upon arrival and checked on us during the meal. We felt valued as customers and will most certainly be back! Thanks for being amazing!

Tried three different types of pizzas and was wowed by each one in a completely different way. The sides are crazy too. Staff was fantastic and accommodating to my child and my needs. We got to meet to PROFESSOR HIMSELF at the end by chance. What an awesome place. I’m a single dad and love to try new places with my little girl. We will be back!

You can't go to Chicago and not have some pizza. Ambiance here seemed super chill. They have plenty of seating at the bar, booths or tables. My family and I really enjoyed the Sicilian style gluten free pizza here last Saturday. The pizza bread was so fluffy and scrumptious. So heavenly! The sauce and over all flavor it had of basil and garlic was so mouthwatering. We also had some honey hot wings that were gluten free and they did not disappoint they were finger licking good. Even the celery was so fresh and crunchy. Needless to say we left feeling complete. The service was very friendly as soon as we came in we were greeted and our server was prompt about getting everything we wanted. He offered us to order with him or they also have a barcode you can scan and put in the order yourself. We decided to just go ahead and order with him. It wasn't too busy that day and we already knew what we wanted prior to stepping in. Highly recommend this pizza spot to everyone because they are so inclusive and delicious! This is another spot on my list to come back to!

We visited from Wisconsin thinking we could eat here but it was only for pick up. I was very excited to try this place out and Alexander , guy with the glasses and Long black hair (Hope I said your name correctly) was awesome to let us place an order. We loved the pizza we ordered! And our friends back in Wisconsin are planning to make a stop. Thank you so much for the friendly service!!

This place is great. Don’t listen to the one guy who said it was slow and overpriced. Workers are nice, it took 25min for $30 pizza, and it feeds AT LEAST 3 people. Lived in Chicago my whole life, best pizza I’ve had here. Wish I tried sooner… and I don’t be giving out 5 stars either. This place is awesome.

maybe my favorite pizza in chicago?! everything was so so tasty, and we love that you can pick your crust along with the toppings. highly recommend the supreme pizza and grandma crust—super flavorful combination of toppings and the crust was deliciously crispy on the outside while being soft on the inside, which is how I like it. can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their menu!

Best pizza in the city! I’m a Chicago native and loveeee pizza so I have high standards. We get the cracker crust and it’s always perfect! I’m a bit of a health nut and love that my pizza has a decent amount of protein and nice fresh pieces of pepper. Makes me feel a little less guilty about eating pizza .. plus the crust is so thin. The service is always great here as well.
